Scouting rare artifacts from antique bazaars in rural areas is a passion Susan Sakya inherited from her father Karna Sakya, founder of the KGH group of hotel. Susan's Collection is housed in the magnificent Gallery Room at the Kathmandu Guest House which was once the grand ballroom when the building was a Rana home. Original antique chandeliers still decorate the ceiling adding an old world charm to this immensely beautiful setting for some of the finest examples of antique and contemporary craftsmanship on display in Nepal.
Susan's personalized attention to master craftsmen and painstaking attention to detail ensures that only the finest specimens in each genre are presented for the connoisseur. The gallery houses fine rugs, genuine pashmina, selected from the best craftsmen, exquisite handcrafted jewelery, crystal and stone carving, gold gilded bronze items, copper and brass sculpture, intricate woodwork and of course a wide range of hand painted Thanka.
