Description :
This is a sample of Torana (tympanum). Tonara is often found directly above the main entrance to a holy space which tells the public about the divinity inside. It is often made of carved wood or metal, always semi-circular, with a myriad of intricate designs depicting related iconography. The outer border is decorated with a pair of Makara (half-crocodile half-lion mythical creature)The image on the top of Chheypu, the mythical bird-like creature vexing on a serpent.
